Petty Cash Voucher Template (Word Doc)

Petty cash is a small amount of money that is kept available at business offices to be spent ton minor daily business expenditures. An example of such expenses can be tea for a business visitor or the replacement of a fused bulb in the office etc.  

Although petty cash amount is usually small yet it is still important to make an entry for every spending properly. To do so, you will need to set up a petty cash account in your general ledger and you will also need a petty cash vouchers book.

What is a Petty Cash Voucher?

A petty cash voucher is an accounting document or slip describing the purpose, amount, and date of a petty cash transaction. The petty cash voucher must be issued and signed by an authorized person.

Usually, a cashier does this job but large-scale businesses may need a dedicated petty cash custodian.

Note: Petty cash voucher is also known as a petty cash receipt, if you want to change the wording in the template then you can do so using MS Word. This template is uploaded as a document file (doc, docx) which can easily be edited in MS Word. How to fill petty cash voucher

On the top right, there are two fields where you need to write the date of transactions and the serial number of the petty cash voucher. Below that, you can write the description and amount of all the petty cash transactions for that date. At the bottom, calculate and write the total amount in the total column.

Finally, write your name in the issued by field and sign it or get it signed by an authorized person such as a cashier or manager.
